What you’ll be doing

You’ll be embedded in the North America team and work with a talented team of product managers, engineers, and operational specialists to create the best possible experience for customers in the US and Canada.

You will own the North America team’s data domain and work with them to drive product adoption, reduce costs, increase payment speed, and make sure TransferWise is as convenient and reliable as possible. So not only will your analysis guide the team’s roadmap, but define what success looks like and make sure that we continue to achieve it as we grow.

Also as a part of the wider analytics team, you’ll get to collaborate on cross-team projects and help TransferWise become more data-driven as a whole.

Your day-to-day

At TransferWise, everyone gets a ton of freedom and autonomy. We won’t be micromanaging, so you’ll get the chance to:

  • Work in an autonomous product team to identify problems, prioritise actions, and create value for our customers.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and projections using SQL and Python — from understanding the root of customer behaviour and problems, identifying new opportunities, and creating models and forecasting growth.
  • Turn insights into impact by working together with your team and using your analysis to ensure that we are building excellent features and products for our customers.
  • Continuously optimise our models to ensure we are causing least inconvenience to our good customers — and keeping the bad ones at bay.
  • Define and track the success of features your team has launched — and visualise this through dashboards and resources you’ll create, own and maintain
  • Empower team members to be more data driven and automate processes, reports, and improve efficiency
  • Contribute to team planning sessions and help set the vision for how your team gets TransferWise one step closer to achieving its mission.

The experience you’ll need

  • You’ll have at least 3 years experience of working as a data analyst — preferably in a high-growth, autonomous environment
  • You’ll have extensive experience forecasting, modeling, and conducting in-depth analysis of complex problems
  • You’ll be highly proficient with SQL, able to write structured and sustainable code, and continue to develop and refine this skillset.
  • You’ll have a working knowledge of Python / R and willingness to learn.
  • You know your way around the infrastructure of analytics and have worked with cloud warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
  • You’ll be comfortable in an autonomous, self-directed environment  — and confident with problem structuring, analytical thinking, and communication.
  • You can break down complex and fuzzy problems into concise, actionable insights — and work with your team to turn them into product and features.

Also, qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got great experience, and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.

We’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. So if you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in.

Also, qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got great experience, and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.

And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.

Please Note: Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in the US. We cannot support visas for this role. This is a full-time, physical position in our New York office.
