TransferWise Recruitment Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TransferWise collect and process your data for recruitment related activities in accordance with GDPR guidelines. Please read the information carefully and if you have any questions about how we protect or use your data, email us at [email protected].

Why are we collecting your data?

We’ll only collect and process your data for recruitment related purposes. We’ll never share or transfer your data with anyone else for any purposes outside our recruitment process and it will be stored in our Applicant Tracking System, which stores data in the U.S. and is fully compliant with EU data protection laws.

We’ll collect your data at the point you click ‘submit’ on your application. However, in some cases, an application may be made on your behalf for a role. This may be through an agency, a referral, or via contact with one of our recruitment team. When this happens, you’ll receive an email confirming your consent for us to store your data.

We work with a number of third party suppliers for integral parts of our recruitment process and have GDPR compliant agreements with all said third parties to ensure your data is protected. The third parties we work with are HireVue (video interviews), My Ally (interview scheduling), SendGrid (job alerts), Indeed Assessments, HackerRank (candidate assessments) and Vero Screening (employment background checks).

What information might we collect from you?

When you submit your application, we’ll collect and store your CV, contact details and any further information you provide at the point of application. We may add to the information we collect throughout the interview process and we’ll need to collect some further details when making a job offer. Depending on your location this may include things like your personal address and right to work.

Sensitive information

Our application form contains some voluntary questions that are intended to help us learn about the various identities and backgrounds that make up the candidates applying to TransferWise, for example, What gender identity do you most closely identify with? Providing us with this information will help us take actions that support underrepresented groups and make sure our hiring process is inclusive and fair for everyone. The questions may be sensitive to some, so all survey responses are secure and optional. All data will be handled anonymously, aggregated and not linked to you. It will in no way impact your opportunity to work for us within the application or hiring process. No one applying to TransferWise is obliged to answer these voluntary questions and if you decide to participate will not impact your application in any way.

How long will we keep your data?

We’ll hold onto your data for one year in case another suitable position arises which we’d like to consider you for or in case of any legal claims.

After a one year period, if you were unsuccessful in your application, we’ll remove your personal data from our Applicant Tracking System.

How will you use my data for Job Alerts?

We’ll only store your email address so that we can send you job alerts for the roles and locations specified. We won’t pass your details on to any third parties, ever.

You’ll get an alert as soon as we publish a new role matching your criteria. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from these emails at any time by using a link in the emails we send.
